Not sure if this is common knowledge, just wanted to throw it out there.
I was a little confused about the feeding protocol for chocobo… like do i feed one piece and have to wait six hours for the next piece. That seemed unnecessarily long a process, just to move from yellow to green.
I found after some reading and experimenting that it is not necessary to wait six hours between feeding each piece of fruit (or whatever) when trying to change colors. I gave mine 7 pears all at once and got the message about him growing new feathers… six hours later he was green.
So… depending on what color one is going for and how complex the recipe for whatever color, it looks like you could just feed them the whole lot at once, get the feather message and have a color in the ballpark of the desired hue.
I would like to know everyone else's experience with this, though.
Did you feed him one piece, wait six hours, then another piece, wait six hours… and so on?
If I had limitless resources I would buy all the food to get to a specific color and feed it all at once to see what would happen. It was pretty easy in my case because it was just multiple units of the same item.
