Hey all, I decided to look up a way to auto sort my inventory and found some real awesome macros that will make your inventory look beautiful and not like a nuke went off in it (at least mine did). So It was A lot to scan through on the thread I was reading through so I am just gonna copy and paste the wall of command lines used for the different types. If you would also like to visit the reddit page I grabbed this from, here is the link: http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/1ta1jw/macros_to_make_auto_sorting_armouryinventory/
Below is the command lines for each macro according to the inventory type you wish to use em on. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––- First the armoury:
/isort clear armoury /isort condition armoury mdefense des /isort condition armoury mnd des /isort condition armoury int des /isort condition armoury defense des /isort condition armoury dex des /isort condition armoury defense des /isort condition armoury str des /isort condition armoury ilv des /isort condition armoury control des /isort condition armoury craftsmanship des /isort condition armoury perception des /isort condition armoury gathering des /isort execute armoury
Now to explain. First a note, the sorting conditions are processed in reverse order, once this is understood then creating your own schemes becomes easy. So if you read my condition armoury lines above you'll see that at first I sort by [gathering, perception, craftsmanship, control]. First two are primary and secondary stats for DoL, and second two for DoH. This results in having all the crafting/gathering stuff on top with the higher stat gear first.
The next condition is [ilv] which sorts everything else by ilvl, we did this later so that gathering gear wouldn't mix with other stuff. However, to clarify, if there were two items that existed that had the same gather/perc/craft/cont but different ilvl, then they would be further sorted by ilvl… just making that clear, although this will probably never happen.
Next conditions are [str, defense], this sorts by str and breaks any ties by defense… so for example str-tanking gear will likely trump str-dps gear. The same is done for [dex, defense] as above. The reason I did it like this instead of just [str, dex, def] is because then the tanking gear would not show up first, because it usually doesn't have dex on it, and dex would be looked for first. So instead we look for str then def and then dex and def again. Experiment both ways to see the difference.
Now in the next case [int, mnd, mdefense] I just didn't care to sort each type of caster wear by magic defense, so here I want to see int first then mnd and then mdefense.
As I said the way the conditions are in the macro are in reverse, that's why my descriptions are in the order I want things done but the conditions are upside down. Other commands are straightforward…
First line of macro clears the armoury filters if there are any, just in case. Last line of macro actually executes the sort, which should also clear all the conditions we just set. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––- Next the inventory:
Much more simple for my needs, similar approach though as conditions are in reverse.
-First condition just breaks items up in to tabs based on category. I'm actually slightly confused by this as I wanted to originally code it as "condition inventory category tab" but that doesn't work, taking "category" out does. Also, moving this condition elsewhere in the order of conditions doesn't change the behavior… so I'm not 100% sure I understand tab sorting, but this does get the result I wanted so I'll stick with it.
- Second condition actually sorts items by category within their respective tabs. If there is spillover in to the next tab it seems to be handled fine, again the behavior isn't 100% documented so I was just experimenting and observing results. But, this works.
-Third condition sorts those items further by ilvl, and fourth condition deals with stacks. I ordered stacks ascending because the first stack is the one that items get used from, so this way your smallest stack will be the first to get used up (ex. greens). ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––-
The Retainer (must have retainer summoned to run macro): /isort clear retainer /isort condition retainer stack asc /isort condition retainer category asc /isort condition retainer ilv des /isort condition retainer tab /isort execute retainer
Almost the same behavior as my inventory sort, except I sort by ilvl and then by category. The reason for this is so that items of similar level are close to each other, I decided this makes it easier for me to locate similar things (like vanity type items, or just all high/mid/low lvl gear). ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
Gear Set auto-sorting with class specific icon for more organization:
you have to look up the gearset numbers, and you have to come up with an icon instead of the gearset icon, but other than that, it works fine. This one in particular has the icon image for Cure as an example if you were say a WHM.
