After working with it a few days, I've set up a profile too, if anyone wants to take a look and compare anime/manga.

In general, though, deconstructions + magical girl is what I lean towards, so Utena and Makoka (and Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, for sure!) rank up there pretty high.

Well…it depends what you like. MP is done by the same guy as Utena, who…well…has this meme, and this meme, among others. It's really off-beat humor, and heavy on symbolic-ness and metaphors. I personally loved MP, even though it's nowhere good as Utena. Albedo seems to have more similar tastes to you than me, though, and he hasn't been able to make it through Utena or MP, so I might not be the best one to ask…

tl;dr : I like it, and found that it really found its pacing around episode 7/8. If you don't like psychological, metaphorical metaphysical stories, though, you'll probably hate it, because you don't watch Ikuhara for his comedy. Also: Utena's better, in almost every way.

I'll give it another chance as soon as I'm done with my current ones.

I don't have many psychological animes in my library. The closest one I have to that genre is Shinsekai Yori. Which I think you may like. The first chapter of your story remind me of it.

It's really fucking good, and it doesn't even have comedy that I oh so enjoy.

Bonus : It's R, it has plenty of death and heavy topics that I know you enjoy.

Oh, it has incest in it too. I forgot about that until I started rewatching AMV's on it. (It's not minor incest either; it's just that Ikuhara has a lot of incest, so I almost expect it now.) So if that really bothers you…

I'll have to check it out…probably during sometime like Christmas break, honestly. XP School….yayness…

You know, I don't just (or even majorly) enjoy r-things, right? I actually prefer things that are subtly horrifying, not just for shock value. (…Though I can see why you would think that I do, thinking about past conversations, to be fair…)

I too Loves the anime! Just finished Knights of Sidonia and I'm working through Hunter x Hunter. I suppose I should work on creating my own anilist… Man, that will be huge. Lol.
